Michael J. O'Mara has been the principal broker and President of Island Properties since its inception in 1985. After graduating from Nichols College, with a degree in Finance, he started building homes in Vermont and Nantucket which dovetailed into the Real Estate Brokerage business. He has been an active member of the community as well as Chairman of the Building Committee for Nantucket Ice for 6 years. He has been on the Nantucket Zoning Board of Appeals for 34 years and was the Chairman for 7 of those years.  When not working, Michael can occasionally be found on the golf course, boating in Nantucket Harbor, or spending time with his family.
