About
Jay Hurst, a native of Roanoke, Virginia and avid musician, performed in the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. He then attended East Carolina University on the RSO scholarship as well as the A.J. Fletcher scholarship. After leaving ECU, he worked in the publishing business with University Press. Not long after relocating to the DC metro area in the late 1980's he joined RE/MAX and began a career in Real Estate. He quickly became a Top Producer in his first year of business. Jay was the driving force at Talley-Hurst Homes as they began, what was then, revolutionary marketing via the Internet and his work did not go unnoticed within the Real Estate community. Jay left RE/MAX when Long & Foster decided to utilize his talents to design and implement a new e-commerce division. Long & Foster's e-commerce division then grew to a $300 million operation under Jay's guidance and in 2014, he left to form his own consulting firm. In recent years, he has advised many brokers large and small.
