Wendy is a Cary native. She graduated from Cary High School and then North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations in 1996. She grew up around new home construction, as her grandfather was a respected local builder, Winfred McLaurin, with McLaurin Builders. Wendy joined what was then, York Properties in 1998. She was the Vice President of Relocation Services and Exceptional Homes & Estates for York Simpson Underwood (until the birth of her daughter Lauren in 2007). Wendy was instrumental in creating what the company's luxury program is today. Real estate is extremely competitive and the stress of the unknown can be very frustrating.
